Phoenix Veterans Day Parade

Twenty three Perch Base members and family took the USS Phoenix float to the 27th Annual Phoenix Veterans Day Parade presented by the non-profit Honoring America’s Veterans (HAV) on November 11th, 2023.
We staged the float at the Firestone Complete Auto Care at 241 W Osborn Rd (Thanks for letting us use your store lot) and then rode the float to the parade starting point.
This year’s parade theme was "Never Forget, Forever Honor."
Organizers anticipated 45,000 spectators along the parade route. Seven Veteran Grand Marshals, represented each era of military service from World War II to Afghanistan.

Thanks to Firestone Complete Auto Care at 241 W Osborn Rd for letting us use your store lot to stage for the parade.

We then rolled to the starting point of the parade at the North Phoenix Baptist Church at Central Avenue & Bethany Home Road and waited for the parade to start at 10 AM. We were #34 in the parade order.
Thanks to Perch Base member Marcus Hensley who came in from Fort Mojave (almost 250 miles!) to participate in the parade and tow our "People Trailer."

Yours Truly, Dan Marks, the Webmaster, walked the parade route in dress blues.
Carl Miner also walked the parade route in dress blues, but I didn't happen to catch a photo of him on the route.

The parade commenced with a flyover by four vintage airplanes.

Followed by a flyover by two military helicopters.
