USAA 5K Run
Seven Perch Base Submarine Veterans (USSVI) set up a static display of the USS Phoenix (SSN-702) float and several tables at the USAA 5K Run in Phoenix, AZ, on November 4, 2023. The USS Phoenix (SSN-702) float was on the 5K running course and the display tables were at the starting point, along with other veteran organizations and causes.

Our Perch Base Chief of the Boat (COB) Don Robertson towed in the USS Phoenix (SSN-702). Vice Commander Carl Miner and Webmaster Dan Marks helped Don set up the static display.

Perch Base manned two tables: One for the USS Phoenix (SSN-702) Cold War Monument at the Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix, Arizona. (left). The other table was for the Arizona Silent Service Memorial (ASSM) in the Wesley Bolin Plaza in front of the Arizona State Capital building. (right)
